The Legacy Awards

Created to mark the 70th anniversary of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, the Legacy Awards are a commemorative honour celebrating the individuals, families, and organizations whose contributions have helped shape the very fabric of sport - and society - in Canada.

Distinct from the Order of Sport, these awards recognize those whose leadership, vision, and commitment have driven lasting change. Their impact extends beyond competition, advancing sport as a force for inclusion, reconciliation, community-building, and national identity.

Selected by a dedicated Legacy Edition Committee, recipients are honoured for their alignment with the Hall’s values, their long-term contributions to sport in Canada, their spirit of innovation, and their measurable impact on athletes, communities, and society. These are stories of influence that span generations - legacies that continue to shape Canadian sport and inspire what comes next.

This year’s Legacy Family represents a remarkable story of sustained impact, where generations of leadership and dedication have left a lasting imprint on Canadian sport and community.
• Legacy - Sport for Good
  Recognizing an individual or organization using sport to drive meaningful social impact - advancing causes such as equity, reconciliation, mental health, and community development. This year’s Sport for Good recipients are true Champions of Change, harnessing the power of sport to create opportunity, strengthen communities, and drive meaningful social impact across Canada.
